Free Calmare NJ Consultation and Treatment Nov. – Dec. 2020

New patients receive one 35-minute treatment at no charge

People seeking pain relief for medication and treatment-resistant chronic nerve pain will receive a first-time-ever free Calmare Therapy®  treatment, if they undergo the 10-treatment therapy protocol during Nov. – Dec. 2020.

“We hope this savings will help children, teens, adults and seniors make the decision to try an alternative therapy to reduce or eliminate their chronic nerve pain,” says Calmare NJ USA clinical director Dr. Michael Cooney.

In addition, new patients also receive a pre-treatment consultation, either by phone or in-person. During this discussion, patients have a firsthand opportunity to ask questions about scrambler therapy, including the customized treatment strategy for the placement of each Calmare lead.

Calmare Therapy (scrambler therapy) is an FDA-cleared alternative pain management therapy to lessen or reduce medication and treatment-resident chronic pain for children (age 10+), adolescents, adults and seniors.

The therapy is a non-invasive, painless treatment that is drug-free and has no side effects.

Regardless of pain level and physical symptoms, several neuropathic conditions can be significantly reduced—or even alleviated—after a series of 10 Calmare treatments, once per day.

Since 2011, Dr.  Cooney has personally treated more than 1,000 patients from the U.S. and around the world suffering from chronic, high-intensity neuropathic pain.

He is one of only seven Certified Calmare doctors in the United States (2020).

Why Calmare is a radically different pain treatment

Calmare is a new therapy for chronic pain

When someone is injured, the brain sets up a process to heal the injury. For example, cells carry away dead tissue or it increases blood flow to the area. Eventually, the brain realizes the injury has healed and it cuts off the pain message.

But for some, the brain never sends that pivotal message saying “there’s no more injury here so you can stop the pain signal.”

That’s where the scrambler device comes in. Using several small electrodes (think an EKG) carefully placed in the region of the injury, the technology sends a mild “no pain” message to the brain through the electrodes.

Essentially, the scrambler machine “overrides” the brain’s confused message and corrects it to the ‘no pain here” message.

How Do I Set-Up My Calmare consultation?

Potential scrambler therapy patients should follow these four easy steps below: (feel free to reach out to us with questions!):

  1.  Review the Calmare NJ USA website to understand how scrambler therapy can relieve severe chronic nerve pain.
  2. Read or watch a few video testimonials by more than 75 patients who have shared their Calmare NJ USA treatment experiences on our Case Studies page and our YouTube channel.
  3. Contact the Calmare NJ USA clinic to schedule your in-person (we follow CDC guidelines for COVID-19 safety precautions) video or phone consultation. During this you will speak personally with Dr. Cooney about your medical history, previous pain relief efforts, current medication use and your pain management goals.
  4. If you and Dr. Cooney mutually agree to proceed with treatment, your 10-day therapy cycle will be scheduled, beginning on a Monday, and held at the same time each day, for two weeks (10 business days).

Future Calmare Doctors Mentored by Dr. Michael Cooney

August 16, 2017

Dr. Damon Orlando from Studio City, CA visited our clinic last week to shadow Dr. Cooney as he treated patients battling chronic pain using Calmare scrambler therapy. He is considering introducing Calmare to his geographic area.

Dr. Cooney has received acclaim for his use of opioid-free therapies to overcome several types of acute and chronic pain for more than 30 years.

But adding Calmare in 2011 as a pain management therapy (which has no side effects) garnered global attention:

emi-hewatt-having-calmare-treatment-_10-16“Patients should understand that Calmare is a ‘provider-dependent’ treatment,” Dr. Cooney cautions. “The provider (doctor) determines the placement of the individual leads according to the origin of the pain site–not necessarily where the pain is being experienced.”

The Calmare Certified doctor says the scrambler therapy provider should also have a proven history of treatment success for the specific medical condition the patient is seeking therapy.

Ensure your provider is “Calmare Certified” and has successfully treated several patients with your specific pain condition.

Calmare Post-Treatment Protocol

March 17, 2016

By Dr. Michael J. Cooney, Clinical Director

Congratulations!  You have completed your Calmare Therapy treatment protocol.

Now that you have less pain, or are pain-free, your quality of life is about to improve dramatically. Once you are home, however, it is important to follow our post-treatment protocol, which we have outlined below.

Due to you improved mobility and decrease in pain level, many Calmare patients feel like they are ready to climb Mount Everest.

But doing too much too soon can actually hamper and lessen your results.

Therefore, I’ve outlined some instructions for patients (healthcare providers can contact directly for more detailed guidelines) to ensure you cover optimally and enjoy the benefits of Calmare Therapy for as long as possible.

Please follow these instructions below and contact us any time if you have a question or concern.

Every patient is different and we welcome your queries any time:

No Exercise or Physical Therapy for Two Weeks after Treatment

Your body is in the midst of recalibrating itself since your Calmare treatments.

When you begin to exercise, be prepared for soreness associated with new activity. During recovery, if injury occurs, use ice. To treatment muscle soreness, use heat. In both cold and hot treatment, administer 10 minutes on and then 10 minutes off for a period of one hour.

Don’t Overdo

While it is thrilling to feel less pain and be more mobile, the muscles need time to adjust to renewed use. Be careful and cautious and don’t do too much too soon. If you feel tired or any pain, stop what you are doing and rest.

Additional Sleep

Your body needs to re-adjust to several physiological changes after treatment. You may need to sleep several more hours than usual for the next two to three weeks. This is normal.

Check-in with Your Pain Management, Specialist or Family Physician

It’s important to discuss your successful treatment outcome with your doctor. It is likely that your medications, particularly for pain, may be lessened or eliminated completely.

Improve Your Nutritiongrilled chicken

Now that you are feeling better and moving more, you should see an improvement in your
appetite. Take advantage of feeling better and fuel your recovering body with high-quality foods– fresh fruits and vegetables, grains, nuts and protein (white before red).

Hydrate with at least 6 – 8 tall glasses of water daily.

Journal How You Feel

We hope you will chronicle how you feel after Calmare Therapy. Keep a record of the new activities you are able to participate in and how you feel throughout the day. We hope this treatment is life-altering for you. Therefore, write down how you feel.

If You Feel Pain

Depending on your medical condition and length of time you have experienced it, pain may return (to a lesser degree). Pay careful attention to any physical or emotional issues that may have contributed to this.

If pain continues for five continuous days, Calmare booster treatments (generally 1 – 3 treatments) may be necessary. Please call the office for further instructions.

Calmare scrambler therapy helps two women with CRPS, ages 87 and 16

Eighty-seven-year-old Ann from the Jersey Shore and Katie, age 16, suffered the same complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) symptoms at different stages of life. But both were determined to resume a quality of life no longer dictated by chronic pain and the physical symptoms of this disease.

Every patient that we treat here in New Jersey who is fighting back against neuropathic pain as a result of a plethora of diseases or injuries, teaches us something new about the enormous potential of this therapy.

We put together this quick video that highlights both women’s journeys and their positive outcomes.

Ann is a “tell it like it is” senior who is sharp as a tack. Katie is so articulate and intelligent. We are so pleased that since her treatment here, she will be returning to school for the first time in more than a year.

No matter where you may be on the age spectrum, Calmare Pain Therapy Treatment may be a viable solution to get your life back on track and helping you enjoy the quality of life you so richly deserve. Call us at 201-933-4440 or send a private email to us at CalmareNJ@gmail.com and we’ll respond within 24 hours.
