Robert, a married teacher with two children from Georgia, was battling chronic nerve pain after foot surgery in 2013.

As the school track coach, his pain condition began to interfere with his mobility, making coaching difficult and frustrating.

For pain management, Robert chose not to use prescription painkillers and preferred to aggressively fight back by undergoing an additional ‘corrective’ surgery, physical therapy, use of a hyperbaric oxygen chamber, bone stimulation and orthotics.

And still, he was battling nerve pain in his right foot daily.

Researching Drug-Free Pain Management Options

He began researching non-invasive, alternative medicine options which treat neuropathic pain and discovered Calmare Therapy, performed by leading Calmare Certified provider, clinical director Dr. Michael Cooney in New Jersey.

While he was never officially diagnosed with complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), Robert was experiencing the same type and severity of symptoms.

He consulted by phone with Dr. Cooney about his medical history and pain treatment goals and they mutually agreed that he was a suitable candidate to undergo the treatment.

When Robert arrived in New Jersey, his pain level was a 6 / 10. He immediately began daily therapy sessions over the course of the next two weeks.

By the end of the series of scrambler therapy treatments, he was pain-free, with only a mild tingling sensation over the surgical scars.

Our team was delighted to see a very different Robert leave the clinic:

He was smiling again and looking forward to getting back to school and resuming his track team coaching.

Good luck Coach!

Newly diagnosed with RSD, Marilyn battles back with drug-free pain solution, Calmare Therapy

June 8, 2016

Marilyn Green, who lives in Florida and New Jersey, had a difficult outcome after foot surgery. She was soon diagnosed with reflex sympathetic dystrophy (RSD) and her pain shot up to a 9/10, making everyday living impossible and debilitating.

She was not willing to deal with side effects from painkillers, so she began to carefully research alternative pain solutions where she discovered Dr. Michael Cooney and Calmare Therapy.

After her series of 10 scrambler therapy treatments, performed by Dr. Cooney, she posted this message on her social media timeline:

“Foot update and public service announcement:
If you know anyone with neuropathy or other nerve diseases,
please read my story:

“I was legally separated from my air cast/ boot contraption in early April. Walking without the boot was like 100 snakes biting me with every step. I was referred to a pain management physician, who diagnosed RSD.

RSD is Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy. This is an autoimmune disease that does not have a cure. Your brain is sending pain signals to the nerves in overload. It was a result of surgery, foreign body infection and the ensuing Bone Marrow Edema. The pain Dr prescribed Gabapenten and Tramadol. My pain level was very high. I picked up the meds and soon decided this was not the route I wanted to travel.

I did some research and found Calmare Therapy. I was lucky to find Dr. Michael Cooney, Clinical Director of Calmare NJ. My first appointment, my pain level was about a 9. After 3 treatments I was around a 4. After 5 treatments my pain level was ZERO. I have remained at that level for almost 10 days from my 10 days of therapy.

I am walking almost normally and continue to wake up every morning with a happier spirit, knowing it will be pain free. I implore anyone in my situation or similar to give this treatment a try.

What is the price of joy, life and living? priceless!

Thank you to my husband for doing everything possible to support me and to my friends for your support and concern.

If anyone has questions about Calmare Therapy, send me a message. I am happy to share my experience. There is hope.

Dr. Cooney, I love you, but hope I never see you again! : )”
