July 23, 2019

new treatment for crps

We’re in the midst of a very busy week, but we always start our day by checking email and social media profiles to see how our patients are doing post-treatment.

This morning, we were delighted to receive a 5-star Facebook review from the mother of a patient from Canada who just completed her Calmare treatments with us to combat a 4-year battle against CRPS.

Dr. Cooney loves this image with Megan and we are proud to share her mother’s review:

“Dr. Cooney just gave our daughter her life back after four years of intense suffering in her right foot with CRPS.

She started her treatment with a pain level of 9/10 and seven treatments later she was at a zero!!

We cannot thank this amazing, kind wonderful man enough!!!

Dr. Cooney will forever hold a huge part of our hearts.”

August 2, 2017

We received a great question from a family coming to New Jersey for Calmare scrambler therapy next week from California–

Pain News Network Cites Calmare as Pain Reduction Champion

June 29, 2017

pain-news-network

Barby Ingle, a global chronic pain educator, patient advocate, and president of the International Pain Foundation, who lives with reflex sympathetic dystrophy (RSD), migralepsy and endometriosis, published a commentary this week in Pain News Network, citing Calmare Therapy as a key alternative medicine treatment for chronic nerve pain.

Excerpt:

“The provider I hear about the most having success with this form of treatment is Dr. Michael Cooney, a chiropractor practicing in New Jersey who sees patients from all over country.”

Ms. Ingle also refers to Calmare Therapy NJ clinical director Dr. Michael Cooney’s Pain News Network guest editorial  describing how scrambler therapy is a side-effect-free and drug-free alternative to help lessen or even resolve treatment- and medication-resistant chronic pain.

Calmare Therapy is an FDA-cleared neuropathic pain treatment for several conditions including injury, post-surgical pain, CRPS / RSD, postherpetic neuralgia (PHN) as a result of shingles, fibromyalgia, nerve pain after chemotherapy treatment (CIPN), diabetic nerve pain and other types of diagnosed nerve damage.

“I hear more than ever from others living with chronic pain that they “have tried everything” and nothing helps. But there are always new pain therapies being developed or improved; some real, some placebo, and some researched more than others.”

Barby Ingle

Pain Pathways Magazine Discusses Calmare Therapy Interview with Dr. Christo

May 24, 2016

By Dr. Michael J. Cooney

facebookI had the pleasure of appearing on Dr. Paul Christo’s popular radio program, Aches and Gains, to talk about our experiences using Calmare scrambler therapy to lessen or even eliminate several types of neuropathy. (The majority of patients we treat here in New Jersey are on the verge of giving up hope of finding a pain management solution).

On the program, I talked about why I found Calmare to be a revolutionary pain management option and which neuropathic conditions were particularly applicable for this type of therapy. Dr. Christo also interviewed a patient who had undergone scrambler therapy who described her firsthand experience before, during and after treatment.

Pain pathwaysRecently Pain Pathways Magazine, an outstanding print and electronic resource for anyone affected by pain, re-shared the Aches and Gains episode on their popular Facebook profile, inviting readers to listen to the podcast again:

PainPathways Magazine

Wondering about Calmare Therapy for pain relief?
Take 30 minutes and listen to this podcast from “Aches and Gains” with Dr. Paul Christo. He does a great job, along with his subject expert, of explaining this new treatment device.

If you are interested in learning more about the treatment, or my point of view about managing chronic pain, you may wish to listen.

Wishing you a low pain day.

Dr. Michael Cooney Featured in Australian Newspaper with CRPS Patient Success Story

February 1, 2016

Border Mail 1
February 7, 2016

Since Dr. Cooney introduced Calmare Therapy in New Jersey in 2011, patients have traveled from around the world to come for treatment personally administered by him.

Pattie Sgherza was one of the first patients to come to us from Australia in 2014. After her “life-saving” positive outcome against severe CRPS pain, she spoke with television media about her positive neuropathic pain treatment experience, which was seen by Michelle Platschinda, another RSD pain sufferer.

Last year, Michelle Platschinda traveled to see Dr. Cooney after a 24-hour flight to New York City in an effort to combat her advanced CRPS.

We still remember the day Michelle arrived in a wheelchair.

And, we are overjoyed to report, we recall even more clearly when she completed treatment and walked out of our office, unassisted, for the first time in years.

Calmare patient leads global CRPS awareness effort

Since then, she has been a woman on a global mission to increase awareness of CRPS and bring Calmare Therapy to Australia. Last year, she launched the Purple Bucket organization to do just that.

Yesterday, she was interviewed about her mission, her CRPS battle and her positive Calmare treatment outcome in The Border Mail newspaper.

Like many patients who come here for RSD pain treatment, Michelle and her supportive loved ones, are now like family to us.

michelle and Dr. CWe are in awe of her relentless tenacity to “get the word out” that Calmare scrambler therapy exists and the desperate need for this treatment to be available in her country–and around the world.

Are you battling RSD or CRPS?

Then we would love to talk more about your medical history and determine if Calmare Therapy may be the right treatment for you. Fill out the info below and we’ll be happy to reach out to you within 48 hours:

Josh Overcomes RSD Pain with Calmare Therapy and Marries his True Love

There’s nothing we love more than a happy ending after a long battle with treatment-resistant neuropathy.

We talked with Josh several times before he and his girlfriend decided to come to NJ and undergo Calmare Therapy for his spreading RSD after a hand injury two years ago.

As you know from his earlier story, after being treated by our clinical director, Dr. Michael Cooney, who specializes in CRPS and RSD patients, he left our clinic with little or no pain–and a future wife!

Now newlyweds, Josh and his bride are on their way to living happily ever after.

Josh is a smart man, to be sure. He messaged us this morning saying,

“Married life is amazing. Our wedding day was perfect and I mentioned your name in my vows while holding _____’s hand with my left hand! We had a gorgeous day and it went so smoothly we couldn’t believe it. I am slowly gaining back the muscle I had lost, still listening to my body and resting the instant I feel weak or sore in any way.”

Thank YOU Josh, for allowing us to share your inspiring story. Take good care. Call us if you need us.
