Dr. Cooney Uses Calmare Scrambler Therapy Exclusively at NJ Clinic

January 29, 2019

A few years ago, Calmare clinical director Dr. Michael Cooney explained in National Pain Report why he added little-known scrambler therapy to his pain management practice in NJ.

“My biggest frustration is when our tried-and-true pain therapies do not result in a successful outcome for our patient.

As a result, these patients are forced to undergo more invasive procedures, such as surgically implanted spinal cord stimulators (SCS) or powerful narcotics, (even Ketamine), where pain reduction outcomes have been uneven and come with significant side effects.

What happens to these patients for whom traditional pain treatments and medications simply don’t work?”

One by one, patients battling treatment-resistant neuropathy, from Bergen County, NJ to Australia and South America, came to Rutherford for scrambler therapy performed by Dr. Cooney.

And many of the patient outcomes were life-changing.

Four years later, Dr. Cooney has discontinued use of all other pain management therapies and treats patients using Calmare exclusively.

Calmare Therapy Pushes CRPS Pain Down, Down, Down

June 15, 2018

Earlier this year, we treated a 30-something gentleman who battled CRPS for the past four years.

And we use the word ‘battle’ literally–

He shared this message with us recently, permitting us to share it:

“In 2018, Doctor Cooney came into my life to change it for the better.

After almost four years of pain management efforts that included:

  • Intensive physical therapy
  • A myriad of medication from steroids to synthetic heroin
  • X-Rays and MRIs
  • Ablations
  • Various injections
  • Ketamine
  • Trial spinal cord stimulator (SCS)

ONLY Calmare Therapy placed my CRPS into remission.

Prior to beginning my Calmare scrambler therapy sessions, my lowest pain level was 6/10;

after Calmare, therapy sessions my highest pain level is a 4/10.

I am now looking forward to living a normal life, spending time with my loved ones, and even being able to venture back out into the workforce again.

Basically, my whole world has opened up, after years of struggle and pain, pain, pain.

Thank you and God bless you.”

Future Calmare Doctors Mentored by Dr. Michael Cooney

August 16, 2017

Dr. Damon Orlando from Studio City, CA visited our clinic last week to shadow Dr. Cooney as he treated patients battling chronic pain using Calmare scrambler therapy. He is considering introducing Calmare to his geographic area.

Dr. Cooney has received acclaim for his use of opioid-free therapies to overcome several types of acute and chronic pain for more than 30 years.

But adding Calmare in 2011 as a pain management therapy (which has no side effects) garnered global attention:

Emily Hewatt Returns from Treatment in New Jersey Pain-Free

emi-hewatt-having-calmare-treatment-_10-16“Patients should understand that Calmare is a ‘provider-dependent’ treatment,” Dr. Cooney cautions. “The provider (doctor) determines the placement of the individual leads according to the origin of the pain site–not necessarily where the pain is being experienced.”

The Calmare Certified doctor says the scrambler therapy provider should also have a proven history of treatment success for the specific medical condition the patient is seeking therapy.

Ensure your provider is “Calmare Certified” and has successfully treated several patients with your specific pain condition.
