Robert, a married teacher with two children from Georgia, was battling chronic nerve pain after foot surgery in 2013.

As the school track coach, his pain condition began to interfere with his mobility, making coaching difficult and frustrating.

For pain management, Robert chose not to use prescription painkillers and preferred to aggressively fight back by undergoing an additional ‘corrective’ surgery, physical therapy, use of a hyperbaric oxygen chamber, bone stimulation and orthotics.

And still, he was battling nerve pain in his right foot daily.

Researching Drug-Free Pain Management Options

He began researching non-invasive, alternative medicine options which treat neuropathic pain and discovered Calmare Therapy, performed by leading Calmare Certified provider, clinical director Dr. Michael Cooney in New Jersey.

While he was never officially diagnosed with complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), Robert was experiencing the same type and severity of symptoms.

He consulted by phone with Dr. Cooney about his medical history and pain treatment goals and they mutually agreed that he was a suitable candidate to undergo the treatment.

When Robert arrived in New Jersey, his pain level was a 6 / 10. He immediately began daily therapy sessions over the course of the next two weeks.

By the end of the series of scrambler therapy treatments, he was pain-free, with only a mild tingling sensation over the surgical scars.

Our team was delighted to see a very different Robert leave the clinic:

He was smiling again and looking forward to getting back to school and resuming his track team coaching.

Good luck Coach!
