Gratitude and Thanks to Chronic Pain Warriors

By Dr. Michael Cooney, Clinical Director

Sometimes, amidst the craziness of the work week, it’s time to pause, look around and be grateful.

Last week, a shoebox-sized parcel was delivered to the clinic. I realized I hadn’t ordered anything recently. I curiously opened the box to find a perfectly-sized pair of sneakers, personalized with my favorite team:

The gift was from a recent patient who battled chronic nerve pain for decades before finally getting pain relief from Calmare scrambler therapy in 2021.

I have provided pain management to thousands of people during my 40-year career. But the past 10 years, using scrambler therapy to overcome treatment and medication-resistant nerve pain, have been the cornerstone of my career, without question.

But without the remarkable courage and resilience of so many pain warriors from around the world, it would not have been possible.

Today, I’m sharing gratitude to everyone who entrusted their health and future quality of life to me and scrambler therapy.

The icing on my job satisfaction cake (yes, a patient put our photo on a cake after her successful treatment)

Megan from Canada after her successful CRPS treatment.

is receiving these handwritten messages of thanks (and gifts!) after their pain management success:

It’s a new year and the world is far from perfect. But from our small corner in Rutherford, New Jersey, will we fight on in our war against chronic pain.

To our blog readers and social media friends–

Regardless of your current health situation, fight on. Keep hope in your body, mind and soul. There are solutions ‘out there’ to countless health issues, including those like Calmare, considered outside traditional medicine (alternative medicine).

Research, network, call, write and weigh your options. But, most of all, don’t give up.
