More Healthcare Providers Turn to Calmare for Chronic Pain Treatment

August 5, 2020

Andrea is a registered nurse RN from PA who came to New Jersey for Calmare Therapy performed by Dr. Michael Cooney
With COVID-19 safety protocols in place, Andrea celebrates a reduction in CRPS pain with Dr. Michael Cooney

It means the world to us when healthcare providers put their expertise and trust in Calmare scrambler therapy and clinical director Dr. Michael Cooney to treat their chronic pain.

Andrea, a bright and talented registered nurse from PA, has battled CRPS since 2017, after a simple fall in her driveway at home.

After her diagnosis of complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS),  she was eventually unable to work, living with a consistent pain level of 8/9 daily.

After six Calmare treatments, Andrea’s CRPS pain level has reduced from an 8/9 to 1–and we aren’t done yet!

Clinical director Dr. Michael Cooney will perform four more Calmare treatments (10 scrambler therapy treatments is the typical protocol) to fortify the pain reduction with the goal of achieving a sustained pain-free level.

Our goal is to send Andrea home pain-free and with plans for her to get back to work and resume the work that is her passion–helping others.

“Andrea will follow our Calmare NJ USA-specific post-treatment protocol and rest as much as possible,” Dr. Cooney notes. “If she feels ready, I can foresee her returning to nursing in about a month.”

Hospital Lab Director Reduces CRPS Chronic Pain to 0/1

May 29, 2020

calmare treats CRPS and reduces pain
Rhonda and Dr. Cooney celebrate her success reducing her chronic pain from 2-10 down to 0-1.

By Dr. Michael Cooney, Clinical Director

Trust us, we’re smiling under these masks!

In mid-May, Rhonda traveled from California for New Jersey to undergo 10 Calmare Therapy treatments after a toe injury in 2016 led to a CRPS diagnosis in both feet.

I was honored to treat her for two weeks, after she had endured four long years of unsuccessful medications, nerve blocks,  physical therapy and Ketamine, which ultimately failed to reduce  her pain level, which ranged from 2-10.

The hospital lab director had 10 Calmare treatments, once daily lasting about 30 minutes, and left at a 0/1 pain level, even during the night when her pain level traditionally spiked to 8+.

I was elated to use scrambler therapy to help get this healthcare worker back to work, where her heart lies.

But Rhonda is the hero, as she took a gamble, even during COVID-19, to win the war against chronic pain, by traveling 3,000 miles for our treatment.

Next week, she is returning to her beloved career once again, living life to the fullest.

Beginning in mid-May, we re-opened our pain management clinic in New Jersey, where we are treating only one patient at a time for optimal patient, family member and staff safety.

Calmare Scrambler Therapy Available at All Military Branches

May 22, 2020

As we prepare to honor our veterans lost in battle on Memorial Day 2020, we felt it was appropriate to announce that the U.S. Military has expanded the availability of Calmare scrambler therapy to 16 military medical centers and two VA locations.

These facilities are generally restricted for use by military personnel, their dependents and other eligible individuals.

Dr. Michael Cooney, Calmare nj USa clinical director,  is also an approved Calmare scrambler therapy provider for veterans living in New Jersey. Veterans must have a written referral from a V.A. physician to schedule therapy.

Dr. Michael Cooney is a New Jersey VA Hospital In-Network Provider

Soldiers, veterans and their families living with chronic nerve pain do not need to turn to more surgery, Ketamine treatments, spinal cord stimulators (SCS) and other invasive procedures for pain relief.

“The U.S. Military was one of the first treatment centers to recognize Calmare’s capacity to substantially reduce or eliminate nerve pain without using invasive procedures, needles, medications or surgeries,” explains Dr. Cooney.

Chronic pain conditions suitable for Calmare Pain Therapy Treatment

Using a non-invasive, non-pharmaceutical approach, this pain management approach treats neuropathic conditions caused by a variety of medical conditions including:

Update and Support from Calmare Therapy NJ USA

March 20, 2020

He knows not his own strength who hath not met adversity.”

William Samuel Johnson

By Dr. Michael Cooney, Clinical Director

As we grapple with COVID-19’s siege on our lives and our health, I wanted to touch base and offer an update from New Jersey:

We are treating patients, new and those seeking booster treatments, on an individual basis, with no overlap from other patients in the office.

Immediately after a patient has received scrambler therapy, we use the next appointment time to thoroughly sanitize our treatment rooms and public spaces, from the front doorknob to the check-in desk and everywhere in between.

When possible, we ask that the patient’s family or friends do not enter the clinic, but wait in the car.

So far, so good.

For people who wish to re-schedule upcoming Calmare Therapy treatments, please reach out as quickly as possible to give us ample time to fill your slot.

Due to the additional time required to clean our clinic between patients, 50% fewer appointments are currently available.

I want to share some valuable content from our longtime friends and partners on dealing with the coronavirus while living with CRPS.

She and her organization are also strong supporters of alternative pain management therapies, like Calmare scrambler therapy, to treat chronic nerve pain and the physical symptoms of complex regional pain syndrome.

Successfully Battling CRPS Pain During CRPS Awareness Month

November 11, 2019

CRPS Patient Nearly pain Free after Calmare Therapy
Erin and Dr. Cooney say goodbye after her successful scrambler therapy treatments.

A Facebook comment posted by Erin’s mother this morning:

“How can I thank you for giving us our daughter back?

Her treatments have completely changed her—body, mind, and spirit, Dr. Cooney!

I pray she remains in remission. This is nothing short of a miracle!!!”

Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) Awareness Month is recognized in November around the world.

I was particularly pleased that Erin’s arduous five-year battle with this notoriously difficult-to-treat condition was overcome after 10 treatments of Calmare scrambler therapy.

Erin, now 29, was diagnosed with CRPS after a surgical procedure in 2014. Since then, she has been living with chronic pain in her leg as high as 8 to 10 on the Pain Scale.

The Kentucky native tried countless pain medications, injections and even additional surgery, without significant pain relief.

Last Friday, after 10 Calmare treatments, her pain level was a consistent 1/10 for the first time in five years.
