Calmare Scrambler Therapy Available at All Military Branches

May 22, 2020

As we prepare to honor our veterans lost in battle on Memorial Day 2020, we felt it was appropriate to announce that the U.S. Military has expanded the availability of Calmare scrambler therapy to 16 military medical centers and two VA locations.

These facilities are generally restricted for use by military personnel, their dependents and other eligible individuals.

Dr. Michael Cooney, Calmare nj USa clinical director,  is also an approved Calmare scrambler therapy provider for veterans living in New Jersey. Veterans must have a written referral from a V.A. physician to schedule therapy.

Dr. Michael Cooney is a New Jersey VA Hospital In-Network Provider

Soldiers, veterans and their families living with chronic nerve pain do not need to turn to more surgery, Ketamine treatments, spinal cord stimulators (SCS) and other invasive procedures for pain relief.

“The U.S. Military was one of the first treatment centers to recognize Calmare’s capacity to substantially reduce or eliminate nerve pain without using invasive procedures, needles, medications or surgeries,” explains Dr. Cooney.

Chronic pain conditions suitable for Calmare Pain Therapy Treatment

Using a non-invasive, non-pharmaceutical approach, this pain management approach treats neuropathic conditions caused by a variety of medical conditions including:

  • Chronic nerve pain

Update and Support from Calmare Therapy NJ USA

March 20, 2020

He knows not his own strength who hath not met adversity.”

William Samuel Johnson

By Dr. Michael Cooney, Clinical Director

As we grapple with COVID-19’s siege on our lives and our health, I wanted to touch base and offer an update from New Jersey:

We are treating patients, new and those seeking booster treatments, on an individual basis, with no overlap from other patients in the office.

Immediately after a patient has received scrambler therapy, we use the next appointment time to thoroughly sanitize our treatment rooms and public spaces, from the front doorknob to the check-in desk and everywhere in between.

When possible, we ask that the patient’s family or friends do not enter the clinic, but wait in the car.

So far, so good.

For people who wish to re-schedule upcoming Calmare Therapy treatments, please reach out as quickly as possible to give us ample time to fill your slot.

Due to the additional time required to clean our clinic between patients, 50% fewer appointments are currently available.

I want to share some valuable content from our longtime friends and partners on dealing with the coronavirus while living with CRPS.

We encourage you to bookmark BN and check back for more of their specialized content.

She and her organization are also strong supporters of alternative pain management therapies, like Calmare scrambler therapy, to treat chronic nerve pain and the physical symptoms of complex regional pain syndrome.

Successfully Battling CRPS Pain During CRPS Awareness Month

November 11, 2019

CRPS Patient Nearly pain Free after Calmare Therapy
Erin and Dr. Cooney say goodbye after her successful scrambler therapy treatments.

A Facebook comment posted by Erin’s mother this morning:

“How can I thank you for giving us our daughter back?

Her treatments have completely changed her—body, mind, and spirit, Dr. Cooney!

I pray she remains in remission. This is nothing short of a miracle!!!”

Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) Awareness Month is recognized in November around the world.

I was particularly pleased that Erin’s arduous five-year battle with this notoriously difficult-to-treat condition was overcome after 10 treatments of Calmare scrambler therapy.

Erin, now 29, was diagnosed with CRPS after a surgical procedure in 2014. Since then, she has been living with chronic pain in her leg as high as 8 to 10 on the Pain Scale.

The Kentucky native tried countless pain medications, injections and even additional surgery, without significant pain relief.

Last Friday, after 10 Calmare treatments, her pain level was a consistent 1/10 for the first time in five years.

Mother and Daughter Travel to the US for Calmare Therapy

September, 2019

Megan and her mother took a chance and a plane ride from Canada for her to try Calmare after a difficult 4-year battle with CRPS.

In the video below, Megan describes the laundry list of therapies and pain medications she took before heading to the US to work with Dr. Michael Cooney, a leading provider of Calmare Therapy specializing in CRPS cases.

When she arrived in New Jersey during July 2019, Megan’s pain level was near a 10/10.

Meet two brave women on a mission.

How to Learn More About Calmare Scrambler Therapy

We handle pain therapy a little differently than most pain management clinics.

We take a personal approach from day one.

If you or a loved one has tried pain medications and neuropathic pain treatments without success (reduction of pain and related physical symptoms), don’t give up hope.

The majority of chronic pain patients we help have been right where you are now.

First and foremost, we’d like to learn more about your nerve pain battle.

After you’ve reviewed our website and learned how Calmare works–and what type of medical conditions are appropriate for therapy, complete the eCard below, email us privately at info@calmaretherapynj.com or call our clinic at 201.933.4440 and we’ll put you directly in touch with our clinical director, Dr. Michael Cooney, who personally speaks by phone with every potential patient.

THE FACTS

The truth of the matter is Calmare is not right for every patient who wishes to undergo scrambler therapy.

After your video or phone consultation, if Dr. Cooney does not determine scrambler therapy has a strong probability of significantly reducing or eliminating your chronic pain, he will not approve you for treatment.

But you never know until you reach out, have faith and continue your quest to win the war on pain.

Calmare Therapy: Overcoming Chronic Pain Side Effects

August 26, 2019

The video you are about to see below was filmed by Megan in her New Jersey hotel room during her stay at Calmare Therapy NJ USA in July 2019.

She filmed her ‘before and after’ Calmare scrambler therapy treatments on her own accord and was not paid or influenced by our pain management team to do so.

Background on Megan’s Long-Term Battle with CRPS

Megan came to Calmare Therapy NJ USA from Australia in 2016 after being severely debilitated by neuropathic pain symptoms as a result of a five-year battle with medication and treatment-resistant neuropathy.

“When I arrived in New Jersey, I was in a wheelchair, unable to walk, stand or sit unsupported. My speech was affected and I had a bad stutter and slur when attempted.

My cognitive function deteriorated until I could no longer follow even a basic conversation or have an understanding of what was going on around me,” Megan wrote after her therapy.

“I had a constant tremor throughout my body and violent twitches which resemble seizures. I was in constant pain in my joints and having burning headaches at the base of my skull and back of my head that would incapacitate me further.

I was unable to do any regular daily activities such as showering, dressing, food preparation etc.”

Megan’s family discovered Dr. Michael Cooney’s use of Calmare Therapy to overcome chronic pain and they made the Herculean trip from Australia to New Jersey USA to try the treatments.

Eleven Scrambler Therapy Treatments Later (2016)

“I started feeling some of the benefits of the Calmare treatment after the first week. My pain was steadily decreasing, my ability to walk short distances was improving, my cognitive function was increasing, I only had one headache in the whole two weeks I was in New Jersey and it was more easily relieved than ever before.”

14 Months After Scrambler Therapy

August 2017 | Australia

“I just wanted to share the news that I’m finally back on road at work as a Paramedic here in Australia! I wouldn’t have gotten this far if it wasn’t for your help and support and the magical Calmare, and I wanted to say Thank You.

You really did save my life as I was in a very dark place before coming to the USA. I don’t think I would have been able to keep pushing through each day if I hadn’t had the amazing level of improvement I gained from your therapy.

You all also gave my mother and I a level of emotional support we had never received before, and we will always be thankful for that too. It has still been a long and frustrating battle to get me back to a level of normality, but it’s been worth it. My family has finally been able to relax; my parents even went on a holiday! And I can finally start being in my 20’s instead of my 80’s! 😀”

Three Years After Calmare Therapy

In mid-2018, Megan’s chronic pain began to steadily increase again. When the pain threatened her neurological skills and her mobility was regressing, she took the 24-hour trek from Australia to undergo 10 Calmare treatments again.

The first 3-4 treatments did not result in any marked improvement, as you’ll see on the video Megan made from her hotel room.

Undeterred, Dr. Michael Cooney persisted.

With Megan’s tenacity in full swing, treatment number 5 resulted in a pain level decrease.

Every treatment thereafter resulted in marked improvement in Megan’s speech, finger extension and reduction in leg spasms.

Thank you, Megan, for candidly sharing your ‘before and after’ Calmare treatments. We are most grateful for your generosity.
