Teenager with RSD Discovers Calmare Scrambler Therapy on YouTube

March 13, 2019

Leave it to the teenagers to discover Calmare scrambler therapy on YouTube!

Since we launched scrambler therapy here in New Jersey in 2011, we have used YouTube to share patient case studies with a broader audience seeking drug-free, alternative treatments for chronic nerve pain.

Today, we have nearly 50 patient outcomes on our channel and nearly 100 more featured on our blog-based website.

Emma from Montreal is a 16-year-old suffering from CRPS as a result of a fall from a bicycle.

After battling intensifying pain in her right and then left leg for the past year, her neuropathy eventually prohibited her from attending high school and seeing friends regularly.

She had undergone pain management injections and even reported to Ketamine to help lessen her pain.

All efforts were unsuccessful.

A Teenager Discovers Her Own CRPS Pain Relief Solution

She searched “CRPS” on YouTube one day, hoping to discover other young people like her who were socially isolated because of the condition.

During her search, she discovered several teenagers from around the world who had successfully undergone Calmare scrambler therapy with us and left pain-free or at significantly reduced pain levels, including:

Kira from Scotland, age 13

Austin from AZ, age 18

Maiya, age 15

Evan, mid-Atlantic US, age 13

Emma and her parents arrived here in Rutherford on February 25, 2019; her pain level hovered around 7.5/10.

Steadily, each day, she underwent her scrambler therapy treatment and most days, her pain level decreased. On the tenth and final day of therapy, she left with a 2/10 pain level, which had been sustained for a few days.

Emma is obviously elated that she finally discovered a treatment to reduce her CRPS pain.

Her number one priority when she gets back to Toronto is to “be back in school with all my friends again.”

An Update form Emma’s Parents

Since returning to her life back in Canada, Emma’s parents dropped us an update this week:

Hello Dr.  Cooney,

I wanted to give you an update on Emma:

The pain is down to a 1 in both legs and she said that sometimes she feels no pain all.

This truly is a life changer for Emma and we can’t thank you enough.

Have a nice evening!

Abraham Travels from Israel for Post-Surgical Neuropathy Relief

March 7, 2019

By Dr. Michael Cooney, Clinical Director

This week we welcomed 54-year-old Abraham back from Kiryat Ye’arim, Israel who first treated with us in 2015 and again 2017 for booster treatments to reduce his post-surgical neuropathy.

He returned this week for four booster treatments and added his pin to Israel on our Calmare patient map.

We are always amazed to discover how people with chronic pain discover us from around the world.

Abraham, first heard about Calmare scrambler therapy in 2015 after watching a promising story about scrambler therapy featured on the Charles Osgood File Report.

Abe, a rabbi who works in publishing, makes the long trip from Israel to our clinic in New Jersey to reduce or eliminate his chronic nerve pain, when the pain returns and begins to increase.

Some of our patients never require further treatment (Calmare booster therapy) while others with more severe conditions, or who suffered with treatment-resistant neuropathy for a year or more, may need occasional treatments, if the pain returns.

As I’ve said before, in many cases, the need for boosters is generally less frequent as time goes on and fewer sessions are required.

Speak with Dr. Cooney about Your Chronic Pain Condition

If you have been unsuccessful lessening or eliminating post-surgical neuropathy or other types of chronic nerve pain, I would be happy to discuss your case during a no-fee phone or video consultation.

Note that you should be in a position to travel to New Jersey, USA and lodge in the New York City/New Jersey area for a period of two weeks, should we mutually agree you are a viable candidate for this FDA-cleared pain management therapy.

To confirm a phone consultation, we invite you to email us at info@calmaretherapynj.com, call the clinic at 201.933.4440 or complete the card below and we’ll reach out to you within 72 hours.

Senior Woman with Chronic Sciatica Gets Pain Relief after Calmare

March 5, 2019

As some of you know, we are now helping people with treatment-resistant chronic back pain and sciatica.

This is especially useful for seniors who have already tried other traditional therapies and medications but did not achieve relief.

Rina’s chronic sciatica pain grew progressively worse as she tried medications and other therapies, including alternative medicine, to lessen her back pain.

In fact, she was verging on losing her ability to live independently while only in her early 70’s.

A savvy user of the internet, she took matters into her own hands and discovered Dr. Cooney and his MC-5A Calmare scrambler therapy device in northern NJ.

After completing a phone consultation with the doctor, where they discussed her current medication usage and previous therapy efforts, they mutually agreed that Calmare Therapy may be a viable therapy.

Rina tells her story below:

How the Calmare MC-5A technology can significantly lessen treatment-resistant lumbar and sciatica neuropathy

Our device reduces sciatic and spinal neuropathy by creating an artificial neuron that retrains the brain by sending a ‘no-pain’ signal along the sciatic root to the brain.

It’s key to understand the distinction between

a sciatic/lumber neuritis and a sciatic/lumbar neuropathy.

The neuropathy (chronic pain) is constant; the pain may vary from low to high, but the discomfort never goes away completely. This chronic, never-ending nerve pain is the root cause that scrambler therapy can relieve.

Conversely, a sciatic/lumbar neuritis is usually a structural or biomechanical problem, such as a pinched nerve or ligament damage. These types of conditions should be treated by chiropractors or physical therapists who specialize in the treatment of musculoskeletal injuries.

What if my pain comes back?

Depending on the severity of the original condition and the length of time the patient has been experiencing chronic pain, periodic booster treatments may be required to combat any return of pain.

Is Calmare technology comparable to a TENS unit?

No. The Calmare® MC-5A device creates a low energy electrical impulse which travels through the patient’s nerves delivering a “no-pain” signal to the brain.

This scrambles (disrupts) the brain’s misfiring pain signal that the area of pain is normal and eventually results in prolonged pain relief.

TENS units are self-use devices that can temporarily lessen pain but when discontinued provide no lasting pain resolution.

To find out if your chronic back pain or sciatic condition may be suitable for Calmare therapy, contact us using the form below, email us privately at info@calmaretherapynj.com or call 201-933-4440 and Dr. Michael Cooney will speak with you directly about your chronic pain challenge.

Teenager Snowboards By for a Post-Calmare Scrambler Therapy Update

February 28, 2019

Last summer, high school football player Austin arrived at our clinic using a cane and could not put weight on his leg/foot.

After surgery for a fractured fibula, he was soon diagnosed with CRPS which caused continued shooting pain; over time small treatment-resistant lesions began to develop on his affected foot (center image).

His family had read about our success treating these lesions and resulting chronic nerve pain from complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) using scrambler therapy.

They flew with Austin from the Southwest for him to undergo treatment and he achieved both pain relief and the lesions on his foot were more than 50% healed after his 2-week treatment (image on right).

Last week, Austin’s parents took the time to let us know how Austin is doing since his scrambler therapy:

Dr. Cooney,
Austin is doing wonderful. It has been a 180 since Calmare treatment, we are ever so grateful to you. Below is a video of him snowboarding!!!! Thank you again for all you do!
Forever Grateful,
Isabel, Duke and Austin

Rob Chooses Scrambler Therapy Over Ketamine and Spinal Stimulator to Combat CRPS

February 25, 2019

After seven unsuccessful surgeries trying to lessen his post-surgical CRPS neuropathy, pain management doctors recommended Ketamine or a spinal cord stimulator to control his pain.

Rob, a 42-year-old electrician from New Jersey, was living with a consistent 7/10 on the pain scale.

With limited mobility, he was eventually unable to perform the work he loved.

His pain management team ultimately recommended he undergo Ketamine infusions or have a spinal stimulator (SCS) implanted into his back to control his chronic pain.

He refused both options.

Instead, he chose to undergo drug-free, non-invasive Calmare scrambler therapy with Dr. Michael Cooney:

Calmare scrambler therapy has no side effects and is painless to undergo.

It is cleared by the FDA in the USA.

Virginia Finds Chronic Pain Relief with Calmare after Spinal Cord Stimulator Fails to Lessen Her Chronic Pain

How Does Calmare Work?

The Calmare® MC-5A device creates a low energy electrical impulse which travels through the patients nerves delivering a “no-pain” signal to the brain.

This process “tricks” the brain that the area of pain is normal and eventually results in prolonged pain relief.

This non-invasive technology has successfully treated thousands of patients in the U.S. and Europe, where the therapy has been shown to be effective in relieving and minimizing pain and physical symptoms as a result of several treatment-resistant neuropathic conditions.

If you have a similar situation to Robm and living with medication and treatment-resistant nerve pain, Dr. Cooney would be happy to offer his assessment about the potential viability of Calmare Therapy in your case.

Calmare is not right for everyone and Dr. Cooney will not perform the therapy on any patient unless he determines there is a high probability of pain relief success.

pet therapy for chronic pain

By Dr. Michael Cooney, Clinical Director

Gina, who has been treating with us for post-surgical neuropathy, swears her little dog helps lessen stress and lower her pain level.

And I agree 100%.

If bringing your pet to your Calmare treatments makes you feel better, bring him or her along!

READ: “How Pets Can Help Lessen Chronic Pain” (Everyday Health)

We don’t operate like other pain management clinics,

never have, never will.

Bring your pet.

If you are living with treatment-resistant chronic pain, consider an alternative medicine therapy, such as Calmare scrambler therapy.

For more than a decade, Calmare has been FDA-cleared, has no side effects and is painless to undergo.

Best of all, there are no opioids, prescription drugs or any medications at all connected with undergoing Calmare.

READ: How Does Scrambler Therapy Work?

This can be particularly helpful to people who have been reliant upon prescription medication for a prolonged period of time and who may benefit from a drug-free pain therapy alternative.

Chronic pain puts too many good people–from children to seniors–on the sidelines of living.

I believe so strongly in the healing power of scrambler therapy, I use this technology exclusively to treat various types of neuropathy, in varying degrees of severity.

We invite you to reach out and let’s discuss if Calmare can help you or a loved one finally defeat the monster we call pain.

Call (201) 933-4440 or email us privately about your case at info@calmaretherapynj.com.

I’ll talk to you soon.

You have my word, we have not even begun the fight yet.

If you have been unsuccessful lessening your pain with medication or other pain management therapies, please contact us to discuss your neuropathic pain condition.

Most importantly, don’t give up the fight. Don’t give up hope.

Calmare Booster Therapy Reduces Star’s Fibromyalgia and CRPS Pain

December 17, 2018

Star came to our New Jersey clinic for a 10-treatment series of Calmare Therapy a few years ago, but the degree of severity and length of time she had been battling both fibromyalgia and CRPS brought the pain back over time.

Recently she returned to see Dr. Michael Cooney in Rutherford, NJ for 10 booster treatments; fortunately, she received an even more positive outcome (pain reduction) after the second effort.

Calmare Therapy® (scrambler therapy) is a non-invasive, drug-free solution for pain control and medication-resistant neuropathy.

It uses biophysical “scrambler” technology, a treatment for nerve pain that uses electrodes placed on the skin.

The device works to relieve pain directly at the pain site without any reliance on medication or painful procedures.

Via small electrodes strategically positioned by a specially-trained doctor, a ‘no-pain’ message is transmitted directly to the nerve for a period of approximately 35 minutes per session.

Regardless of severity, pain and physical symptoms caused by the neuropathic condition can be significantly reduced-or even alleviated-during or by the conclusion of the 10-treatment series.

The cause of the neuropathy may be a result of injury, cancer and chemotherapy, surgery, diabetic pain, CRPS / RSD, Shingles/PHN, lower back pain, fibromyalgia (FMS), sciatic neuropathy, chronic neck pain, failed back surgery or phantom limb syndrome.

Calmare Therapy NJ USA Patients Describe Their Treatment Outcomes

For severe cases of neuropathic pain, subsequent Calmare booster treatments are sometimes, but not always, necessary for patients who have lived with the chronic pain condition for a long period of time before undergoing Calmare Therapy treatment.

Men with Chronic Pain

December 7, 2018

By Dr. Michael J. Cooney

men with chronic pain
Peter Hinninger describes his 17-year battle with neuropathy, finally resolved with Calmare Therapy. Click on the image to watch his video recap.

Men of all ages battle severe chronic pain, too.

Too many guys think they have to suffer in silence.

Since we began offering Calmare scrambler therapy in 2011, we have treated males with chronic pain as a result of injury, surgery or medical condition from age 11 to nearly 80.

We’ve seen that many men believed they could ‘fight through the pain’ or that it would eventually become more manageable.

Unfortunately, neuropathy is not acute, like a cold, and it will not naturally resolve itself over time.

From our clinical experience, the longer one lives with chronic pain, or it is left untreated, the more prolonged the pain management process (pain alleviation) can be.

Clinical tests have also found that men with chronic pain tend to battle depression and anxiety issues.

Find out why Calmare booster therapy can help severe chronic pain sufferers

If you’re a male and plagued by chronic nerve pain, first and foremost, you are not alone.

Secondly, contact your healthcare provider to discuss pharmaceutical and other pain management therapy options.

Emphasize that you are seeking non-invasive pain treatment options first. If your pain level is manageable,  you may wish to forego pain medication.

Monitor your results and speak up promptly if you don’t experience pain relief or have adverse side effects to the medication or treatment protocol.

If traditional medication and pain therapy has not lessened or resolved your pain, please feel free to reach out to me personally to discuss your case.

Calmare Therapy is FDA-cleared, drug-free, has no side effects and is painless to undergo.

In the meantime, meet some of the men we have helped overcome their debilitating pain, once and for all:
