Earlier this year, Peter Hinninger came to Calmare NJ as a last resort.
Over the course of 17 long years, he had tried every medication and every treatment, including a spinal cord stimulator (neuromodulation) to lessen his chronic pain.
Still, his pain level hovered around a consistent 7-8 on the Pain Scale.
Peter widened his search for pain relief by researching alternative medicine solutions that would not involve more surgery, more pain or constant mental fogginess.
He discovered Calmare.

Peter describes his long history with chronic pain and eventual relief after scrambler therapy.
After the completion of his therapy, performed by clinical director Dr. Michael Cooney, he was pain-free for the first time in more than a decade.
Eventually, he and his longtime partner wrote a book about his successful treatment, detailing his physical improve day-by-day during the course of his 10 scrambler therapy treatments.
The New Jersey resident’s purpose in writing the book is to let others living in chronic pain know that reducing or eliminating pain does not have to come in the form of a pill or invasive procedure.
“Peter is an exceptionally bright gentleman who documented his pain management treatment with us in captivating detail,” says Dr. Cooney. “Anyone living with chronic nerve pain can appreciate how life-changing achieving a pain-free state can be.”
