Hearing from our previous patients months and years after their Calmare treatment is the gift that keeps on giving. It sustains us to keep looking forward with hope.

Last week, we heard from this young man’s mother, who brought him to us in 2012, as a 12-year-old boy, with treatment-resistant shoulder neuropathy.

This is a family of very bright people, who aggressively traveled to see the top pediatric pain management doctors and treatment centers in the US. Finally, a pain management clinic in the Midwest recommended they pursue an alternative pain treatment called Calmare Therapy , because it is non-invasive and has no side effects.

Jamie was one of the first children we treated; thankfully, his successful treatment outcome opened to door to Dr. Cooney helping many other children and teenagers thereafter.

His mother describes their long journey:

As you may know from our Patient Stories, we use non-invasive, drug-free scrambler therapy to treat adults as well.

The scrambler therapy device doesn’t just lessen or eliminate nerve pain. Dependent upon the cause of the neuropathy, physical symptoms can also be alleviated after undergoing the standard Calmare 10-treatment series, including:

  • Allodynia
  • Severe temperature fluctuations
  • Extreme sensitivity to touch
  • Healing of lesions and blisters
  • Neurological and cognitive challenges
  • Muscle weakness and reduced mobility

Ultimately, our goal is to retrain the patient’s brain and eliminate the misfiring ‘there is pain here‘ message to a ‘there is no pain here, so we will no longer need to send the pain message.’

If you have tried traditional pain medications, pain management and/or physical therapy for neuropathy and have been disappointed with the results, contact our New Jersey team, with 10 years of Calmare treatment expertise, led by clinical director, Dr. Michael J. Cooney.

We follow the 2021 CDC guidance for Covid-19 safety protocols. A negative Covid test report is required within 72 hours of your arrival for your first treatment session.

Calmare is a US FDA-cleared treatment.
