Understandably, traveling to New Jersey (or anywhere, for that matter) these days is complex. We’ve recently received calls from upcoming patients who are confused about their ability to enter our state if they are traveling from one of the 31 states (as of 8/17/20) listed on the New York, New Jersey, Connecticut Travel Advisory List.
Important Note: Traveling to New York/New Jersey to undergo healthcare treatment is permissible; the self-quarantine is voluntary and compliance is expected.
“Travelers from impacted states should self-quarantine at a hotel, or other temporary lodging. Individuals should only leave the place of self-quarantine to seek medical care/treatment or to obtain food and other essential items.”

We do recommend that you speak with your local lodging provider about any COVID-19 operational changes and current precautionary measures.
Should you need recommendations for local hotels, please visit our New Patients page and click on Hotel & Travel Information.

The Good News

The Governor of New Jersey has been very conservative regarding the reopening phases for our state (no indoor dining, indoor gyms or indoor gatherings of more than 25 people).
Right now, our state’s transmission rate is below 1%, after a blip upward around the Fourth of July. This is one of the lowest COVID rates in the nation at this time.
At our clinic, we continue to treat only one patient in the clinic at a time and follow all CDC and State of NJ Department of Health precautionary guidelines.
Since we are keeping our staff as bare bones as possible, you may only come into direct contact with Dr. Michael Cooney, our clinical director, since he is the sole treatment provider.
Certainly, we are living in crazy times. But many people are still living with uncontrolled chronic pain. We can’t “wait” to help people in pain, living day-after-day with a diminished quality of life.
Therefore, following state requirements, we are continuing to move forward, treating our patients with fastidious care, supported by COVID precautionary measures in place.

Pain waits for no one, not even a pandemic. But we will fight back with a safe and comforting environment to provide treatment, just like we have since 2011.
Please feel free to contact Dr. Cooney directly if you have questions or concerns about your future Calmare Therapy treatments.
